Mr. Templer has spent most of his career in the check cashing industry. He was a co-founder and senior manager of Mr. Payroll, a financial services company that franchised, supported, and operated 165 financial service centers in 13 states. Later, he led the development of a patented automated check cashing ATM with integrated biometric identification software, decision engine, data center and back-end call center. He negotiated, developed, and deployed programs with Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Kroger, Albertsons, Texaco, et al. These programs resulted in more than $1 billion in gross transaction volume. The initial product development phase resulted in a new company valued at $125 million.
These experiences shaped the development of VALID’s groundbreaking behavioral decisioning engine, which now leads the industry in speed, ease, approval rates, reduced fraud, flexibility, convenience and compact size. As co-inventor, he is the recipient of six US patents for automated check cashing. He has been quoted in a broad range of major industry publications, and spoken at national events such BAI Retail Delivery on check cashing and how to better attract and serve new and underbanked customers. John Templer lives in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife and children.
Dyron Clower has spent his entire career in the check cashing industry. He joining VALID Systems from ACE Cash Express, where he served as Director of Self-Service Operations. In that role, he oversaw product development and installation initiatives in the automated check cashing and bill pay groups. Prior to that, Mr. Clower led the software development and patent efforts for the first automated check cashing/ATM machine. He was previously Vice President of Business Improvement with InnoVentry Corporation, where his service dated back to its establishment as Mr. Payroll. During his tenure with InnoVentry and its ancestor entities, he was involved in all aspects of the company’s operations, including co-designing and implementing point-of-sale software used in franchise locations, and managing the day-to-day operations for the franchisees.
As co-inventor, he is a recipient of six US patents issued for the automated check cashing process. Due to his numerous accomplishments and contributions to the creation of advanced industry systems, he is widely considered a leading authority in the self-service check cashing arena. Dyron Clower holds a B. S. Degree from West Texas A&M University. He resides in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife.
Prior to joining VALID Systems in 2003, Mr. Ring served as IT Architect for Spectra Marketing in Chicago, Illinois. During his five years at Spectra, Mike held a number of key positions in the Technology department focusing on web development and services. At VALID, Mr. Ring’s responsibilities include development and design of VALID applications and databases, web related services, technical support, and management of programming team. Mr. Ring has over 11 years of technology experience, the majority focusing on web-related development, design, services, and deployment. Michael Ring holds a bachelors degree in Computer Systems and Multimedia Design from Illinois Wesleyan University. He resides in Fort Worth, Texas.
Jack Kucler guides business development for VALID across all industries, with a particular emphasis on the financial services sector. Mr. Kucler joined VALID in August, 2006 after 36 years with Cleveland, Ohio-based KeyCorp, one of America’s largest financial services companies. For the past two decades, his work has been largely centered on consumer banking and electronic delivery of services. After starting with the bank as a staff accountant, Mr. Kucler rose to the position of Director of Budgeting for the Finance Department, before taking on the Presidency of The Green Machine, a wholly owned ATM and debit processing subsidiary of KeyBank. His final role at the bank was as an Executive Vice President presiding over electronic services distribution, which included all ATM operations and Internet distribution. He and his wife live in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr. Kucler holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, and a master’s degree in business administration from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware. His professional affiliations have included seats on the boards of directors and advisory boards for several transaction processing companies. Most recently, he served as chairman of the Accel/Exchange Network Advisory Board.
Steven Dawe brings more than 20 years of experience in the electronic payments and financial services industries. He oversees sales for VALID across all its target industries. He joined the company from Financial Transaction Services, where he was President, co-founder and member of the board of directors. His achievements at FTS included growing the company’s value to approximately $23 million in its first eighteen months of operation; developed a multi-channel distribution network including direct sales representatives, ISOs, agents, banks and VARs; and acquired AliantFinancial Services, which remains FTS’ largest distributor. Prior to FTS, he was Senior Vice President of Sales for Pay By Touch, where he was responsible for direct sales to Financial Institutions, Debit networks, and Data Processors, and managed the Agent bank Program with over 11,000 merchants, among other responsibilities. Previous roles include his position as Senior Vice President of Business Development for the Debit Services Division at First Data Corporation, where he led the development and execution of the company's strategy, including products, sales and marketing. Mr. Dawe also held positions as Senior Vice President of Sales for Concord EFS, and Senior Vice President for Financial Institution Sales for Electronic Payment Services. Steven Dawe has an M.A. in Geology from State University of New York, at Binghamton, and a B.A. in Geology from Ohio University. He lives with his wife and three children in Cleveland, Ohio.
Prior to joining Valid Systems in early 2004, Lyndon was employed with Thomson Financial, where his responsibilities included the development of process automating applications. Mr. Hughey oversees the development of the VALID Direct ATM solution, the VALID New Account administration site, and the BIP Reporting application. Lyndon has been developing software since 1998. Lyndon Hughey received a bachelors degree, with a focus in Information Technology and Marketing, from the University of Texas at Arlington. He, his wife and his son reside in Fort Worth, Texas.
As Director of Account Management and Integration for VALID Systems, Ms. Sharp brings 15 years of experience in the Consumer Financial Services space. During the last 8 years, she has concentrated on new product development and retail delivery aimed at the Underbanked market segment. Prior to joining VALID Systems, La Shonna was Manager of Client Development for GE Money. While with GE, she managed two of the company’s largest check cashing client accounts; she directed an initiative to streamline operational processes and enhance financial services product growth for all managed accounts. Ms. Sharp also managed the product integration team for GE’s check cashing service P&L, which was responsible for successfully deploying services to over 1,000 client sites in 2005. Prior to her position with GE she held positions with 7-Eleven, Inc. as Financial Services Category Manager, ACE Cash Express and InnoVentry. She lives with her husband and daughter in Allen, Texas.
